About Us

Crossway Nursery Group Ltd is a small, family-owned childcare business based in Caldicot, Monmouthshire. Established in June 2013, we are proud to have grown into a trusted local provider of high-quality early years care and education.

The nursery group is owned and directed by Lisa and Ian Beard, with Lisa serving as the Responsible Individual for all settings. She oversees the daily management and continuous development of each nursery, ensuring the highest standards of care and education.

Although each setting has its own dedicated management team, both Lisa and Ian remain closely involved in the day-to-day life of the nurseries. Their wholehearted commitment and hands-on approach are central to the continued growth, success, and family ethos that define Crossway Nursery Group.

Our Journey

Our childcare journey began in 2013 with Lisa’s large-scale childminding provision in Chepstow. After several successful years, we expanded in 2017 to open Crossway Nursery and Preschool in Caldicot—a small, 10-place preschool that embodied our “home-from-home” ethos.

Following the success of our early settings, we began searching for new opportunities to grow while maintaining our high standards of care. In September 2021, we proudly opened Crossway Town Nursery in the heart of Caldicot, followed by our fourth setting, Crossway Park Nursery, in January 2025. Both nurseries continue our commitment to providing nurturing, inspiring environments where children can flourish.

We firmly believe that children settle and thrive best in a homely, relaxed, and welcoming environment, and this principle has been at the heart of every Crossway setting. Each of our small-scale provisions naturally creates an intimate and cosy space where children and babies feel safe and secure. Our thoughtful layouts, carefully chosen furniture, gentle lighting, soft furnishings, and authentic resources all contribute to the warm, home-from-home atmosphere that our parents—and most importantly, our children—love.

Over the years, we’ve built an excellent reputation within the local community for providing high-quality care and education in a nurturing, relaxed environment.
